Voting Guru: the UpVoter assistant

Voting Guru: the UpVoter assistant

What is Voting Guru?

Voting Guru is the artificial intelligence assistant integrated into the UpVoter management panel. It answers questions about how the platform works, helps resolve doubts during session preparation, and provides guidance on how to get the most out of each question type.

Voting Guru does not take actions: it does not create questions, it does not modify sessions, and it does not send emails. It is strictly a reference assistant that responds in natural language.

It is only available to authenticated organizers. Participants do not have access.

How to access

In the management panel of any session, there is a floating button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Clicking it opens the Voting Guru chat.

The conversation history is kept as long as you don't reload the page. If you reload or close the management panel, the conversation starts from scratch.

Language of responses

Voting Guru responds in the same language you have selected in the UpVoter interface. It is not necessary to tell it explicitly.

If you write your question in a language other than the interface language, Guru will try to reply in the interface language. For best results, write in the same language you use in the application.

  • Why participants cannot access with their link.

  • What happens when an invitation token expires.

  • What it CANNOT answer

It does not access your session data
Guru does not know the content of your session. It cannot tell you how many votes you have, who voted what, or what questions you have configured. It only knows how the product works in general.

    It does not perform actions
It cannot create questions, activate voting, send invitations, or export results. It only answers questions.

It may not know the latest news
Its knowledge base is updated regularly but it may not reflect very recent features. If an answer seems to contradict what you see on the screen, the interface may have changed since the last update.

    Tips for better questions

    Be specific

    | Instead of… | Better like this |
    |---|---|
    | How does UpVoter work? | How do I set up a Prioritize question with 5 options? |
    | I have a problem | Participants say they can't send their vote. What could be wrong? |

    Include relevant context
Although Guru does not have access to your session, you can describe your setup so the answer is more accurate:

  • "I have the session set up with mandatory invitation and participants say the link doesn't work for them."

  • "I am using Wordcloud with active moderation. When do the words appear in the cloud?"
  • Use case questions
Guru is especially useful for strategic guidance:

  • "For a cooperative assembly with 200 members, what type of question do you recommend for electing the governing board?"

  • "I want to do a knowledge quiz with a final ranking. What setup do I need?"

  • "How do I make sure participants don't see the results until I reveal them?"

  • When to contact support instead of Guru

Some problems require human intervention with access to your account's actual data. Contact UpVoter support when:

  • You need to recover a deleted session.

  • You have a billing issue or plan change.

  • You see unexpected behavior that you cannot reproduce from Guru's description.

  • You have questions about the contract, data privacy, or terms of service.

  • Participants in a critical event cannot access and the event is running.
  • In urgent situations during a live event, direct support is always more effective than Guru.

    Current limitations

  • No memory between sessions: conversation history is lost when the page is reloaded.
  • No access to your session data: Guru can read neither the content nor the configuration of your real session.
  • Knowledge base not in real time: it may not know very recent features.
  • Response in interface language: if you write in a different language, the answer may appear in the interface language.
